Job Summary:

In need of Medical Records Technicians. Position is responsible for maintaining accurate medical records by classifying, sorting, retrieving and updating information on files as requested by office supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Purge and shred hardcopy of provider medical records after specified retention period
  • Answer telephone and refers calls to appropriate staff
  • Maintain hardcopy medical records
  • Receive all incoming mail and routes to appropriate staff
  • Optically scan prepared medical records
  • Prepare complete medical records for imaging process
  • Request incomplete portions of medical record from provider
  • Analyze medical records for completeness
  • Receive requested medical records and log into tracking module in the review system

Position Requirements:

  • ​S.​ Diploma or GED
  • Current BLS/​CPR certification (Healthcare provider) by AHA or the Red Cross
  • Must be able to pass a security clearance
  • At least 1 year of medical records exp or RHIA/​RHIT certification
  • Graduate from a State-approved Medical Records Technician program, or at least 2 years working as a Medical Records Technician

Salary: $12.00 an hour
