Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the management of inventory across all operating districts.​ The Inventory Controller will optimize inventory levels to reduce carrying costs while meeting operational requirements.​

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the reconciliation of consignment inventory balances with each area and the warehouse
  • Recommend alternative stocking programs (i.​​ vendor held and consignment inventories)
  • Ensure inventory reviews are conducted in conjunction with equipment/​fleet disposals
  • Analyze, and recommend stock items for surplus and obsolete disposal
  • Focus on inventory reduction while maintaining sufficient inventory to support mine Operations
  • Implement a root cause problem solving and corrective action process for inventory discrepancies to improve inventory data and reduce the risk of inaccuracy
  • Recommend policies and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and minimize loss of inventory
  • Responsible for monitoring all inventory cycle counts and physical inventory programs and record adjustments
  • Participate in internal and external best practice forums
  • View inventory globally and apply consistent best practices across the organization
  • Provide input into a procedure for the GLOBAL rationalization and standardization of inventory across all operations
  • Review in coordination with Maintenance and Planning reorder quantities, min/​max inventory levels, service levels, etc.​ and recommend updates

Position Requirements:

  • Reasonable Excel (V Lookup, Macros and Pivot Tables), PowerPoint and general computer skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Logistics or Manufacturing Management
  • Experience working with external auditors and customers
  • Strong Inventory process knowledge
  • Min 5-7 years business experience
  • Strong analytical skills – an inquisitive personality
  • Experience integrating acquisitions and working in a growth environment
  • Outstanding communication skills required – both up and down across and organization
  • General understanding of internal audit requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience with SAP inventory transactions REQUIRED
  • Food Industry experience preferred
