Job Summary:

The Morgridge Institute for Research is a new, private, nonprofit medical research organization in Madison, Wisconsin, affiliated with the University of Wisconsin–Madison.​

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, develop, and deploy programs to monitor, track, and measure print, broadcast, and social media content and coverage.
  • Work with the Web Managing Editor to produce and update content for the online Newsroom.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key press and internal consultants, and help manage press relations during major events and crises.
  • Differentiate and position individual departments, physicians, programs and services to elevate their reputation among key constituencies and consumer markets, locally, nationally, and globally.
  • Strategically manage the flow of all communications in and out of the press office, including press releases and media advisories.
  • Work with the Press Director to implement a proactive and integrated press strategy that strengthens Mount Sinai’s brand identity and communicates its unique expertise.
  • Manage press relations by addressing press inquiries and proactively differentiating Mount Sinai from its competitors.

Position Requirements:

  • Established relationships with local, national and trade press.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members, physicians, and executives under tight deadlines and in emergency situations.
  • A strong public/media background in a large, complex organization, and health care communications is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the health care industry, science, or biomedical issues is required.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 7 years’ solid experience in press relations.
  • Must have an established track record of having developed, managed, and implemented press strategy on a local and national level.

Salary: 110,000.​00 – 120,000.​00 USD /​year
